How to Apply for SNAP  (formerly known as Food Stamps)

SNAP applications are processed by the CT Department of Social Services (DSS).  A person applying for SNAP fills out an application and submits the completed application, along with copies of the required documents, to DSS.

DSS reviews the information, determines the monthly benefit amount and sends out the EBT (Food Stamp) cards.
