The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as The Food Stamp Program, continues to help low-income families and individuals afford the cost of food at the supermarket or grocery store. The lastest information from the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) shows that Connecticut residents are increasingly requesting assistance from state government for help in meeting the basic food needs.
