Be a No Kid Hungry Youth Ambassador 
at End Hunger CT!

No child should grow up hungry, but one in six children struggles with hunger right here in Connecticut. Through the support of Sodexo Foundation, Share Our Strength has created a program to involve youth in college in the fight against childhood hunger.  In collaboration with End Hunger CT!, two Youth Ambassadors will be placed in Hartford, CT.
Consider spending your summer at End Hunger CT! working to connect children with free Summer Meals by being a No Kid Hungry Youth Ambassador.
The CT Youth Ambassadors will be responsible for:
  • Organizing Summer Meals outreach events in multiple regions in the state. This includes leading community outreach efforts, volunteer recruitment, and volunteer management.
  • Working with community leaders, elected officials, and other partners to increase awareness of the free Summer Meals program.
  • Managing the Summer Meals website, social media, and statewide Summer Meals site data.
  • Visiting Summer Meals sites to collect stories and best practices.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A great attitude and willingness to work on all kinds of projects
  • Interest in hunger issues
  • Commitment to working with diverse communities
  • Reliability, responsibility, and a good work ethic
  • Good customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with social media
Daily access to a car and use of personal laptop and mobile phone required.
Youth Ambassadors will receive a stipend of no more than $2000 for 40 hours of work per week for 10 weeks (including one flex week for vacation).
