ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS

CT Summer Meals — Each summer, over 400 sites across Connecticut provide free meals to all kids 18-and-under, regardless of socioeconomic status. Summer Meals is a federal program administered by CT’s Department of Education. In partnership with the Department, EHC! coordinates promotion and outreach efforts for CT Summer Meals. Summer Associates will work closely with EHC!’s summer program manager to assist in promotion efforts, coordinate site visits, distribute materials, maintain the Meal Site Locator Map for families and more throughout the summer.

More info about CT Summer Meals can be found at www.ctsummermeals.org.

CT Fresh Match — EHC! operates CT Fresh Match, a SNAP-doubling program at farmers’ markets across Connecticut, each market season (SNAP = Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as food stamps). Customers using their SNAP benefits at a participating market are given double their purchase, which they can use to redeem more healthy, local options at the market. The program goal is to increase access to produce for low-income households while supporting local Connecticut growers and agriculture. Summer Associates will assist the program manager with program administration, implementation of new program features, material distribution, market site visits and more throughout the summer.
